Raise or Raze?

There are so many different learning outcomes and course descriptions out there! I found it hard to wade through them all to use for my own course. Oddly enough, the one school that I wanted to find a syllabus for did not have any available to look at – and I can’t help but wonder why not.  Why not share? Why be so secretive? Anyway, I have so many ideas spinning around in my head right now, and I feel like this “work in progress” is going to take a while to perfect…what student learning objectives are the most important?  How many are too many? How many are enough?  DO most colleges break out their reading and writing into separate courses at the developmental level? How? Why?  I feel that I am on a better track for the FYW course as far as developing a course description that I like, but I need some more time with the BW course, even though I’m reading Bartholomae!!!
